From Linda Ostrow, Cab's proud grammy - I just read your heart-wrenching speech.  No wonder you couldn't give it.  We too are trying to live in the present and we consider everyday a new miracle.  Cab is doing GREAT.  He had a major advantage over Lance, he went into the transplant, healthy, except for his heart - no prior surgeries, etc.  Your speech was perfect and I want you to know that we all pray for you and your family every night.  Give both boys hugs from us. Denise Faulkner (Haley's mom)
Good evening.....I was just sitting here looking at the Barrow County News and reading the article about Haley and Lance and their "new found" friendship and I starting thinking how blessed Haley and I are to have met Lance and Kim and Mrs.Jane. What wonderful people you all are. You have blessed us with your friendship and by letting us become a part of your lives. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. I know Haley wants to do everything she possibly can to help you all in whatever ways that you need her for so just know that we are right around the corner and we are just a phone call away if there's anything we can do. From the time I met Lance @ Bethlehem Elementary I felt a connection to him and now I know why....we have the same Birthday! I hope he enjoyed the flashlight Haley gave him for Halloween. Please know that we are praying for GOOD DAYS for Lance from now on and hope that we can celebrate , for years to come, all that God's grace pours into your lives from this day forward. Please let Lance know that we are excited to see him again real soon, and spend more time with him in the days to come.

Sorry, Lance, I meant to type Captain Jack Sparrow. I reread my message on your Blog and saw my error.

Lance, I read on your Blog that you are going to be a pirate for Halloween. That is a great costume. Are you going to be Captain Mack Sparrow or another pirate? Post a picture of you and Emory so I can see you on Halloween. Do you like to play pirates? My sons always did.

Hi Christina, Thank you for your kind words on Brayden's carepage. Brayden's heart condition is Pulmnary Atresia with VSD, and MAPCAs (multiple aterial pulmonary collateral arteries). The largest part of his problem is his body did not form the pulmonary artery from his heart to his lungs, causing his body to create many small (1mm)collaterals from his heart to his lungs. The collaterals have worked up to this point with the help of high flow oxygen and the ventilator. We were called to the hospital Sunday (10/18/09) morning to give us the devastating news the the collaterals are collapsing and no longer carrying enough oxygen throughout his body. We were asked if his sats drop again after he is excubated whether or not to reincubate. Still struggling with that decision. We hope to update carepages later. We are glad to hear Lance is doing good and back in school, that is really wonderful.

Lance, this is the first time I have seen your web page. I am so glad you are doing well. You and your family have had a busy spring, summer and fall. But you look great and I am so happy!!! What do you like to do for fun?

I just read your story at the Barrow Journal (I work for a sister newspaper and just saw your story come off the press). Our daughter, Katie, was also born with a very bad right ventricle (Ebstein's Anamoly, pulmonary atersia and left ventricle noncompaction). She has had three surgeries at Egleston, and the last, the Fontan was done in July. Overall, she has spent about 6 months at CHOA for various issues, but is home now. She will be 3 in October. We also have KB/Deeming Waiver through the Medicaid program. I saw the story from Fox 5 about y'all applying for it. Katie has received KB for the past three years, since she was born. I have been told by our case worker that should we get denied, fight it with appeals. Sometimes, that's all that they want you to do to get approval -- that way, they know you're serious, she said. Apparently, they are dening more cases recently, although Katie got approval in May. Hopefully, Lance was quickly approved and this is all a non-issue. It is a huge financial help, so fight for it! Also, have you heard about the HIPP program? That's another big help once you get KB. If you have any questions, email me at kerriuga@yahoo.com, or visit our carepage, enter the name, "katietestement." Hope Lance continues to do well!   kerri testement Jefferson, GA
